My 10yr old daughter's much loved hamster died a few weeks ago. We got him as a baby of around 8 wks old & after the initial few days settling in period he was very tame & immediately handlable (if there is such a word!)...we were obviously very spoilt!
We have bought her another & the newbie is a WHOLE different ball game, totally terrified & not tolerating being handled AT ALL! My DD is rubbing her hands in the bedding & not coming in from above & giving a treat first but we don't seem to be making an progress.
Any tips on taming gratefully received!
