Get neither horrible bitey jump out of your hand little noisy at night and don't wake up at day escape artist bastards. And if you still do don't get the dwarfs they're awful even worse and truly viscous little shits.

Get a guneia pig instead they're lovely.

Syrian

As big as you can afford

They look like mini teddy bears

We have a Syrian and a fairly big ferplast cage.

We took a LOT of time and effort to tame him when we first got him and he is now incredibly tame and gentle and happy to be picked up. Even when he is in his ball, he runs to our feet and tries to roll around them. He doesn't even seem to mind when my daughter (aged 6) picks him up (it doesn't look overly comfortable for him). He is very cute and nice to cuddle and I don't mind the noise at night, I find it quite comforting to hear him.

He is not the worlds most exciting pet and I am not sure he will be replaced when his 3 years are up but he is very lovely and I am pleased that we got him.
