Rabbit Insurance

If you have a rabbit do you have insurance? Any recommendations? We are about to get two mini lop bunnies and just pondering if we would be wise to insure them.

I have a large male lop and he's not insured. I didn't insure my previous bun either. The most she cost was about £50 for a dental operation. Some people do insure their buns, but I took the view that if something goes wrong, the cost of treatment is not prohibitive (unlike with cats and dogs). My previous girl probably cost about £120 in vets bills over her lifetime (she died at 4). Current Bun, so far, has only visited the vet for neutering (£40ish) and annual vaccinations. There's a rabbit awareness week every year and if you manage to find out when it is (I did by accident once) and you have a rabbit friendly vet, they do free bunny check ups during that week. I carted my poor boy off to the vet for a once over - he was unimpressed.

Some people put the money aside in a special account, instead of paying an insurance premium, then it builds up to a nice amount to hopefully cover treatment if it's required.

Mabe ask your vet which ones are best in terms of paying (ie paying the vet), like car insurance, some are better.
Might be worth checking with your house or car insurance though, if they do a Multi Cover deal , you might get a cheaper quote than an animal based company?
They won't cover vaccines and neutering though.

(I did look at insurance for our guineas but very few places cover them (they are Exotics ) mainly cats/dogs/rabbits.

Can't remember exactly how much it would be though
