Rabbit help needed!

We have a 9 month old male rabbit. He's lovely but messy. Litter trained (ish) but often makes a mess with his food and water bowls (tips them up if we don't give him extra food)

Currently he's unwell with ?stomach upset and I don't know what to do. Have been giving plenty of water and hay and just dry food.
His bottom is a mess-should I bath him? If so using what ?

Really? Goodness I didn't realise I just thought where he has an upset tummy he's got poo on him and it looked like he had sat in it too.

Yes he seems to be eating normally

Lively and alert as usual too but def has an upset tummy. Had to clean cage a lot today

Have you given him a lot of greens recently? That can make them loose. I'd suggest warm (not hot) tap water and cotton wool to clean him up, but good luck with that - I doubt he'll be keen.

He won't eat greens. He's fussy and very cheeky, likes carrots and occasionally cucumber and begs for food constantly. He was overweight so had to have less food and unlimited hay.

He did eat a raisin off the floor the other day that ds2 had dropped could that have caused it?

Rabbits need swift treatment for such problems. Please contact a vet.

How is he? Don't forget you can always phone the vet for advice, even out of hours and they will let you know of the bunny needs to be seen or not. Generally, loose stools are quite urgent, but personally I think if the bunny is still eating, drinking and behaving normally then it's probably not a dire emergency, although I'd still try and speak to a vet. Not eating or not seeming very keen to eat or behaving quietly are serious emergencies and bunnies can sadly die within hours or less if they stop eating.

There is lots of good info on the Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund website about bunny diets and health problems etc.

He was fine! Poo back to normal the following morning and he's still as happy as ever.
I'm wondering if he nibbled something he shouldn't have on his travels that day and it upset him a bit? We have tried to rabbit proof everything but with four dcs there are always crumbs about. I'd keep him in his cage but he gets unhappy and loves attention so enjoys being out.

Limit carrot (too sugary) and cucumber (laxative effect like lettuce) for rabbits
