GP sleeping bags - really?

Just in the process of setting up a cosy home for GPs we hope to get in the next few weeks, and I came across these on ebay.

So cute! but would GPs really be likely to use them? won't their claws catch? how would they get the end open?

I am v tempted to put one in a christmas stocking for each GP DC.

Maybe when you're holding them on the sofa or something. Not for their night box or for long stretches of time. They do look lovely and cosy.

Believe me I made one out of cuddle fleece double layer and me pigs love it. I would suggest you push the boat out and buy them the £6.20 version. I suspect it has plastic corset boning into, which is what I used to keep the opening open.

YY they pee and poo in their cuddle sac. So it only gets put in the hutch as a treat. I originally made it because I had a poorly pig.

I have one for my ferret - it isn't filthy as he sleeps in it. My belief was that GP are also clean sleepers so it wouldn't get (overly) dirty.

Asteria guinea pigs are really mucky, IME especially sows, poo wherever they fancy.

Guineas are filthy little beasts and if they don't cover it with wee and poo immediately it'll get covered in hay which will then get all in your washing machine.

Vile creatures - I will remember to tell DH next time he whines about the ferret being a bit niffy. At least he craps in a litter tray!

Awww the piggie on the right looks like my DD dearly departed GP1 .

They would be nice for cuddling them in but it defeats the purpose of giving them a hands on cuddle and stroking their coat. I think if I had a small child or a nervy guinea I'd try them to keep the pig secure.

raviata save all your Primark bags and cut the handles off (bitter experience talking here, GP1 got stuck and ragey. Didn't occur to him Doh, it's paper, I can chew my way out ) . You can put some hay in, throw the bags out when they get mucky.

And yes , they are manky blighters. But that's part of their charm

DD will be overjoyed, another reason to spend £££ in Primark

I made some for mine and one loved them, the other wouldn't go in. They did get really filthy as well, but were a nice way cuddling them.
