Help!! Guinea pigs fighting.

Our two girl piggies have been fighting for the last 24 hrs, never lasted this long before and it's upsetting the children.

They are sisters and 5 months old, things have been fairly harmonious til now but since yesterday there has been lots of chasing, angry rumbling and neck grabbing.

Not sure what to do. We've tried seperating them, one in hutch and one in run but then they just sat and called for each other.

Neither seems to be injured in any way. Should we let them work it out.

It's the heat,I've let my boys out to gallop around the garden. There are 6 all together 3 lots of two.they don t get on in enclosed spaces but are perfectly happy trotting about chasing each other.I think it's a space thing.I love free range guineas. It helps I have a walled garden though.

YY they seem to be at their narkiest in Spring, in hot weather and your girls might be in Season?

There's different 'levels' of aggression - as long as they aren't drawing blood, I think I'd let them tough it out (especially as they seem to fret when they're apart)

Give them lots of displacement activity- boxes, paper bags of hay, move things round in their cage to bamboozle them.
And tomorrow, if they're still being gripey, give them a bath.
They'll smell the same. It puts them a bit out of their comfort zone. And they can share a mutual dislike of the mean Person Who Bathes Them. Grin

Make sure you dry them well.
