Is this normal dominance behaviour?

It's plus2new with a name change btw. My two girl piggies are about 3 months old now. They are sisters and we got them together.

When we moved them in I noticed one used to rumble at the other and sometimes chase her. I know it is normal for one to assert dominance and it went on for a while and then settled down and they are healthy and happy.

They were in their hutch this evening while I was tidying it a bit and I notice the rumbling/chasing behaviour again and also the bossy one sort of nipping at her sister's behind.

Is this normal for it to have started up again? Could the quieter one be trying to assert herself?

This was in their wooden hutch - they are usually in run during the day. Could space in the hutch be a problem?

I had the same situation today. I have a trio of sows. Head of the pack is Naughty Girl. I caught her twice today chasing and nipping Coco's bum. Coco is the lowest in the pecking order and is only ever assertive when she is claiming a paper bag for herself her favourite plaything is a paper bag.

Naughty Girl is 99% of the time never nasty to Millie Pig, she would stand up for herself.

I think Naughty Girl is in season today and therefore got the hormonal grumps. It should pass by tomorrow and they'll all be friends again Well until the next one is in season

Thanks fortified, glad to hear it's normal. I hope they get back to being friends again soon.

They are usually so cheerful but GP1 was definitely in a mood today. Poor old GP2 just wants to popcorn around being a bit silly but GP1 having none of it.
