hamster takes all of his bedding out of his house

My hamster who I've had for a couple of weeks takes all of the bedding out of his house, drags it over to where he hides his food then sleeps in the house with nothing in it, sometimes he sleeps where hes dragged the bedding.

I havent had a hamster before but this doesnt seem right, I use the same bedding as in the shop and he wasnt doing it there. Hes about 6 months so not a baby, he had been in the shop along time.

Any idea why hes doing that? Is it the bedding do you think? Im worried hes not comfortable Blush

My hamsters and mice always did this, I wouldn't be worried x

Perfectly normal.

it's a hamster thing

I think they do it for fun, like moving the furniture round for a change

wait till he starts sitting in his food bowl, having a snack whilst doing a poo

My long gone hamsters did this all the time, especially after we cleaned them out, they like to make their own little nest I think. I miss having a hamster but the DC's are a bit too young and squeezy at the moment!

We tried to change half the bedding each time so it still smelt of him but he still did the moving bedding thing. As for sleeping in the house with no bedding... I used to think it was because it was cooler for him.
