Litter tray

I gave Current Buns litter tray a thorough scrub out yesterday and put fresh litter in from a new bag. He has had this kind before with no problems but has now decided he doesn't like it and is doing his stuff next to the tray instead . I've tried scooping up his bunny raisins and putting them in the tray but it's not convincing him. Any ideas?

I may just have to get another bag of litter and mix the two together and see if that works.

They might have changed the litter formula itself? (Like soap powder manufacturers like to do, then you end up with a reaction "But I've always used WashyMatic " But not New and Improved WashyMatic
Subtle differences to the odour neutralising properties perhaps that you wouldn't notice but he does?

I tried my boars on the Excell litter, they were singularly unimpressed but I don't know if it's the smell of it or how it feels under their paws.

You might be able to trick him shouldn't be that difficult according to the boars by putting a layer of his preferred litter over the top of the non-preferred.

I thought guineas were fussy buggers but these rabbits.........

I have put a layer of P@H litter on top now but the little long eared monster has not needed to go yet so I don't know if it'll work.

Bunnies are a million times more fussy than guineas. A childhood bun loved digestives but only mcvities - she would not accept any other brand. Current Bun likes his bunny biscs but only the green ones. Previous bun had a preferred chair and would glare and charge at anyone who tried to sit in it. And if you have a house bun, don't ever try to move any furniture around - they never forgive you

Update - he used his litter tray. Is it right that I feel as proud of him as I did of my kids when they used the potty for the first time?

and a tiny bit weird the level of pride that your Super Furry Animal doing something good can cause .(I've never experienced the delight of the boars using a litter area, they are walk'n'drop types, but I well remember the DC using the potty (and loo) and how you feel you've got somewhere at last)

What do you clean the tray with- maybe he didn't like that?

I thought of that - I used the same furry safe cleaner I always use but maybe that's changed. Could have been the litter - tesco wood cat litter - he's had it before but it may have changed in smell (to him). Fussy critter

At walk and drop. I mowed the lawn yesterday morning and put the GPs out. They were miffed at not getting in before the mower but after just 2 hours the lawn was covered with their calling cards. It looked immaculate before. DH was a bit put out that there was nowhere to walk safely - free fertiliser I keep telling him.

Since I put hay in the rack and shredded paper the the beds, the boars have gone out of their way to make it untidy to show their displeasure.

I put puppy pads under their newspaper where they sleep, otherwise they just saturate it.
And the boary smell . (opens window to air their house)

So tonight I relented and put hay in their beds (just a bit) GP3 wandered round "What's the game here then"?
like his house was never cleaned out- everything was moved just to bamboozle him.
