I'm sharing some photos, because I can Grin

Ruby jumped into DP's jumper today for the first time, we are super chuffed by that, she's going slowly on the socialising front but is getting there :)

We have Howl (one eyed dark rat), Haku (sandy coloured rat with black eyes), Ruby (brown hooded rat) and Nibbles (strawberry blond hood).

Howl and Haku are 4mo boys, we've had them from 6 weeks and they have grown significantly! They are huge. We're hoping that they become a pair of those huge fancy rats you see Grin Ruby and Nibbles are a bit over a year, we've had them for just over seven weeks. We've only just started getting Ruby to trust us over the past week or so, Nibbles has only really started being very comfortable with us over the past couple of weeks too, though we've been able to hold her for a few weeks.

Squeeeeee soooo cute :)

Ruby with her 'nest', it took up a 10x17 inch shelf and was piled 8 inches high. It also had a tunnel leading into it. We were loathe to destroy it but unfortunately, they needed a clean!

Envy

I always wanted rats as a kid but my mum wouldn't let me :( she stretched to a hamster.

One day I'll have my cat, dog, rats, spiders, snakes......

:o

They are beautiful, I love rats.

ConfusedPixie · 21/04/2014 16:28

Thanks! We think that they are adorable Grin

Giles My Mum was the same, I only wanted rats for a short while though. They are much better than hamsters though IMO, though they require a much bigger cage.

My hamsters were fab!! But I was desperate for rats

ConfusedPixie · 21/04/2014 16:43

You're lucky, mine were bitey fuckers Grin I remember one of them was pregnant when we got it, so a few weeks later we had lots of tiny hamsters, they were cute. One was lame though, missing a leg or two and the Mum tried to kill it :( My Mum managed to save it somehow and somebody down the road took it so we visited. I liked that one, it was called Angel :)
