Rabbit water bottle help

Apologies if this has been done before. I have two extremely cute rabbits and need a new water bottle ( preferably 1L) as their old one has had it and has had to be binned. Luckily they drink from a bowl too so can search and ask you guys for a recommendation for a non leaking water bottle. Is there such a thing?

I usually just get the ones in pets at home and don't have a problem with them leaking. I only use it as back up though as my bunnies prefer to drink from bowls, so they have two water bowls then a bottle in case both bowls get finished/soiled.

None of my water bottles have leaked. They drip occasionally if knocked but as they work via motion of the ballbearing in the nozzle this is expected. I just get a cheap plastic one.

So there's no special kind? I've obviously just been unlucky mine have all leaked

The bottles with a"sippy spout" rather than a conventional ball bearing tend to leak a lot less. I switched to these for my house rabbits, rats and hamsters years ago. They're also easier to fill. The ezi filla is one of these (there are others, but I can't find the name of the ones we've got!).
My animals had no problem working out how to use this slightly different valve.

Another plus is they can be taken apart and properly cleaned, unlike the ball bearing valves.

I've just looked at the ezi fill ones. How do they fix onto the hutch? Do they go inside or outside and can you get one that holds a litre?

not sure how those exact ones attach, but the ones we have come with a bracket and fasten on to the outside of the wire with the spot sticking through, like the standard ball bearing ones. there seems to be one for sale that holds a litre here www.johnhopewell.co.uk/default.asp?template=productdetail.page.xml&productid=22

reading that, it also fixes on with a spring that comes with it.

We have 2 x 600ml as my big girl likes to tug on them and managed to pull one off once. (different type of fastening to these, though).

Well I've ordered one so hopefully it will be better. I certainly like the sound of them and be nice to not have the racket at night of them drinking :o

lol its not pathetic. i am going off to have a look at the bottle link and i haven't had a house bunny for over ten years.

:) I'd love a house rabbit. Mine are outdoor bunnies :)
