Chewing bars

Is there anything I can do to stop the hamster chewing the bars on his cage?
He gets plenty of exercise, has plenty of food and water, big enough cage and wheel and different things to chew on.
I'm terrified he'll chew through the bars or get sores on his nose

Not a hamster expert but I did have a bar chewing bunny. She was able to leave her cage and free range, had other things to chew, plenty to eat and loads of attention but still chewed the bars of her cage. I think she just liked the sound. Your hamster may just like chewing them.

Again from a rabbit perspective, but does he get attention when he chews the bars? they can be like toddlers and will do something to get any sort of attention, even being told off.
