You know those C&C cages, the grid work squares for guinea-pigs...?

Not exactly the same I know but I got some grids from COSTCO this week. They are for shelving , in the Office furniture bit (makes 8 cubes - there are 30 grids and 30 connectors ) IIRC about £14-£18 (they add VAT to the 'base' price)

I bought them to make up a shelf unit for the small bedroom once the boars are back outside (they have a pen made up of interlinking panels). If they were used for animals they'd need extra ties (like cable ties)

I did tell DH that if I 'happened' to need an emergency cage then I'd convert the grids from shelving to hog-holding. He was Hmm as you can imagine.

There's some photos on "C&C" cages.
But the grids I got are shelves though lots of websites I've read say try DIY shops for the grids.
You need a base (I've seen the plastic sheeting that signwriters use recommended. You know the material that Estate Agent "For Sale" signs are made of) and you cut it to line the cage)

My shelves set has the round grip fasteners but if I was making a cage I'd definately get cable ties.

I think DH was a bit worried in case I was planning to smuggle a few more hogs in Grin . My boars have the metal panels run and as neither of them are very athletic , it suits their needs indoors.

We had one of them when our two were living in our old utility room. It was great if you have GPs and younger kids as the kids could stroke GPs over the side or could get in the actual pen and cuddle them.

Ours was from a lady on the internet who sent you a kit for them but she's now gone out of business. The grids had round click in fasteners and cable ties and the base was made of that corrugated plastic. Its v good as you can just score it on one side with sharp knife to bend it but not cut all the way through. This makes it leak proof and it keeps in check a lot of the wood shavings and general GP mess.
