We have found a hamster in the loft.
We are ex gerbil owners. No bedding or woodhssvings or whatever lefg, so we've got some fleecy material down. Put water in a bottle (which the hamster has used a bit). He is in the gerbil cage.
Is it okay to give it some gerbil food? I'm guessing only a little bit? I've told the DC to be quiet and to leave it alone as it's probably quite scared and nervous (although, as they are 2.5, 4 and 6, this hasn't gone too well).
DH is walking around knocking to check if anyone has an escaped hamster as we speak. We are in a terraced house thing, but it used to be one house which was divided, and from past events, there are ways for it to have travelled from right down the street to this house. Other than that, I have no idea how it got there. 
Now I don't know what to do. He's quite thin and small. And definitely a he, ifyswim.
