winter piggies?

Our little G.P.s are seven months old so this is our first winter together. They are in a nice hutch in a sheltered part of the garden. It has a rain/wind cover and a warm cover under that made of fleecy stuff.

But we are in the North so I'm guessing they need to come indoors at some point? When?!

Ours have their Pighouse and I've just started putting a Snugglepad in their deep hay box at night.
I've got their radiator ready for tonight (low setting) because we're getting colder here (Essex)

You need to look out for damp too. They can cope with a dry cold but not damp.

Keep their temperature stable- hot-cold or cold-hot doesn't agree with them.
And their bedding. Damp peed hay not good.
I change the boars every 2 days because they do pee for Britain

Ours will come in for Guy Fawkes weekend mainly because of the noise.
Then probably end Nov for winter nights.

I have 2 little girlies who are just 4 months old. They have a very large hutch, their sleeping area is filled with hay and the brown paper that I get in amazon parcels! They are always curled up in the paper when I come down in the mornings.

I recently bought a large sheet of tarpaulin from Amazon to make sure the hutch is completely waterproof and this gets pulled over the front of the hutch at night and then 2 garden chairs put across the front to a) keep the drafts out b) hopefully deter foxes as our last dear departed
Piggies were victims of a fox in the night.

I change out girls hay every 2 days like 70.

Tonight I have just been done to put their snuggle pad in their sleeping compartment.

I will bring them in as soon as I can DP doesn't really like them in the house
