Just for fun - what's your small furry's favourite game?

My piggie boys love a manic game of 'Your Bit of Cucumber is Better than Mine' or if they're running in the conservatory a round of 'Poke Bun and Run' which is also known as 'Don't let Sleeping Buns Lie' (Current Bun does not like this).

Current Bun likes 'King of the Castle', 'Sock Wrestling' and his absolute favourite is 'Did You See How High I Just Binkied?' - which involves a huge leap followed by staring hard at whoever is there until they tell him how wonderful he is.

My girls would love playing hide and seek when they were out freeranging - usually to be found lurking under the lemon balm, IN the lavendar bushes, or hiding more cunningly under the spinach. Their best game was when we took delivery of a new hay bale. It would sit pristinely in the shed, and then the guineas would dive into it, digging tunnels, playing ghosts, and hide and seek. Because of the depth of the bale, they could get in at different levels, so like 'high rise' guineas - would camouflage themselves, and wait patiently until they were discovered.

One of my girls used to like 'fishing' - where we would put her on our knees, get some really long field grass, and 'fish' in front of her with it so she could get the oats and seeds at the end - aah, happy days time wasting

Damn it, raining now, just as I was about to go and attack the garden....

Deliberately decided to garden tomorrow as it was supposed to rain today, so have got on with jobs in the house - it hasn't rained yet

Love the hiding under the spinach - would there be any spinach left to hide under?

My DDs played 'fishing' with the pigs last week. They dangled basil in front of them for them to catch.

my childhood guineas used to Free-Range and hide in the raspberry canes.They'd stretch up to help themselves to brussel sprouts growing.

The Resident Boars sit on hard surface floors in Ying/Yang watching each others' backs way.

GP2 goes Tripp Tripp Tripp through the plastic tunnel like a BillyGoatGruff (GP1 is the troll under the bridge )

Mine (2 cheeky boars) like playing - "my bum is bigger than your bum so I will wave it at you lots!" . "look the door is open lets go 'out there' where the vegetable machine (fridge) lives!" , and "quick - lets go behind the telly and poo and chews wires!" And "no, we do not want cuddles unless there is vegetables involved!"

Grey piggy is an awful thief! We make them come up to us to get their treats. Other pig trots up, gets his piece, trots back, all watched carefully by Grey piggy. Grey pig pinches it off him and guards it ferociously! all to avoid leaving his nice warm lair to get his own.....

Does anyone else have jealous guins? Grey pig turns and looks at me accusingly if I brush other pig for too long. Other pig nibbles Grey's ears every time I stop brushing him and switch.

I had a little soulmate of a guin once- one of our only females. I imagine her to be a slightly mean-spirited, passionate Kate Bush type genius. Quite vicious to anyone except me and my dad. She was so incredibly jealous of her daughter that whenever we stroked her first, she'd pounce and bite her daughter! Then was the picture of contentment when we hastily turned our attentions on her.........

Hi quirrel - yes I have had two rather OCD girls over the years, both rescues, highly possessive and jealous if anyone else got the attention first and fiercely protective of me - first out of the hutch, keeping the others in check if they dared to move first. One would sit on my shoulder and snooze when the Archers was on, docile as a lamb, and then turn into a ferocious lion when put back in her hutch. Our other black rescue had had a miserable life and so justly got her revenge on all and sundry by exerting her chattering teeth and general grumpiness on them all - woe betide any of them if they dared to poo outside the alloted space!

My little 'soulmate' was dear Eliza, a plump, kind hearted, gentle creature, black and white, very psychic, always watching, very anxious to please and be cuddled, miss her terribly, she was like a little version of a cow! - and could probably eat just the same amount as them. Sadly she died of an ovarian cyst bless her, still miss her little black leathery feet! :) :(

Kritiq - your long haired boar is gorgeous! so cute with his little mouth in the middle of all that luxurious fur :-p

Guineapiglet I do like the sound of Eliza! ours aren't very plump- in fact Grey guin doesn't seem to be aging, is just like he was as a baby pig, very soft and lithe. And I also do like guinea pig feet....and tongues, when we can spot them only thing is that for the first time ever we have to cut their nails and they bloody hated it when I tried it the other day (gave up!). Don't know why they've suddenly decided to start growing them all of a sudden. Maybe I'll have another go tonight......

The secret to nail cutting is bribery -lots of long grass to keep them otherwise entertained and their greediness usually wins out. Place guinea on knee, get nails in the right position, Just when they are about to protest offer grass to distract them - then cut quickly before they realise what is happening.

Didn't think your tip of bribery would work on my two guineapiglet, they know a bribe comes before a fall, but it did! Gave them parsley and oats and they lay on their backs munching away while I concentrated on not poking them in the eyes with the scissor tips. Should've capitalised on their mighty greed earlier....

You can get bespoke guinea nail clippers they are kind of like rounded pliers with holes in to insert nail ( guinea has to be upright) no sharp bits and they work brilliantly.

I am seriously impressed that yoy did this with guineas on backs!!!!! :) ;)

Ah, glad you liked the video. It was sort of a "selfie" with DBoar2 turning the camera off himself. Did another one and (watch for gormless DBoar 1, who has since had a haircut and shower and smells of lavender!) :)

Yank the metal tube out the water bottle, look concerned when human is frantically googling "why is hamster drinking so much water", then reveal you've flooded the cage
Or appear from under the fridge with a nonchalant look, and no sign of how you escaped

Human looks down at book and then looks up...

Sees rabbits on lawn, perfectly still, sitting in identical profile book-end positions facing one another.

Human glances down at book again and then looks up seconds later...

Rabbits on lawn in identical positions but this time facing away from one another without seemingly having moved

Human looks down at book then up again ...

Rabbits are again placed perfectly symetrically on lawn but this time spread out lengthways ...tail to tail

Human looks down again, then looks up unusually speedily to try and catch them in the act ...

But no, they are still perfectly still and symetrical, but have somehow changed positions and are now lying nose to nose

The wierd thing is, we never seem to see them move ...

Wow. Spooky behaviour from your rabbits, you will have to put cctv in garden to catch them moving! Another brilliant children's story in the offing!
