Rabbit pooping everywhere in hutch

We have a male bunny we've had for 2 years- rehomed from age 3, he's a lovely boy but at the minute is driving us mad. He's been litter trained all the time we've had him and its been a doddle keeping hutch clean.
All of a sudden he's taken to shitting and piddling anywhere he likes especially in his bed. We've tried locking him out of the bedroom area and he uses his litter tray but as soon as we let him back in he's pooping and peeing in it again!!
Anyone any advice as we are constantly having to empty his bedding out and it's costing us a fortune.

Is he neutered? It could be territorial, but given his age it's unlikely this would start now. Can you fit another litter tray in his bedroom? If he's decided this is where he does his business, it's best to go with it. Our previous bun occasionally changed the location of her toilet and we just moved things around for her.

Thanks for the reply. No he's not neutered but he's been fine for years. Locked him out of the bedding today and he's pooped in the litter tray but as soon as he's gone back in he's done it there again.

Has anything changed recently? With our first bun we went on holiday for a week and he went off to the bunny boarder. Came back and he completely forgot about his litter tray. No amount of trying could get him to use it again. We got him a 'lady friend' and she copied him and also poo's anywhere!

At first they only poo'd downstairs but now also poo upstairs in their hutch, even in the 'home'.

Not to mention that Flopsy also loves to clear all the hay from the top floor of the hutch, which they then wee on downstairs and is also costing me a fortune in hay!!!!
