Girl Piggies

Are they just tidier than boys? We're pig-sitting for friends and have little girls staying with us. Their cage is immaculate. Their food stays in one place and they eat side by side happily. Do they come out with a hoover when I leave the room?

Some guineapigs are just cleaner than others. Its nice to have clean ones :) x

My boys are my first experience of pigs and they are really untidy. They throw their nuggets all over the cage and then wander round eating them when they find them. Their fresh food is rolled on and slung about. Five minutes after cleaning them out, they look as though they haven't been cleaned out for weeks. Do I have particularly untidy ones then?

My rabbit, however, is very tidy (except on the days when he does origami with his newspaper).

Anything could be cleaner than my boys.

Pee and poo anywhere and everywhere. They run through it when they have floor time, spreding it over the floor and their legs, stomachs, feet....

Little pig was rather keen on digging in his water bowl, until I had enough and gave him a bottle, I got a face.....

Hi - how lovely to hear about such clean and tidy girls - mine never were! They were easy to train to use poo houses tho' - and I did have one girl who always pooed in the same corner, never anywhere else, and kept her food completely separate. When she finally moved in with the other girls she obviously read them the riot act about their cage, as it got progressively tidier when she moved in!

My first pig (when I was 9yo) was a little boar who poohed in the corner of a tray lined with newspaper.
None of mine since have shown this degree (or anything near it) of fastidiousness.

Our GP1 and GP2 now are manky little buggers. Walk along lifting their rumps and depositing glossy poohs (at least GP pooh is inoffensive ) on the way.

I was cuddling GP2 tonight. He yawned, grated his teeth, released evil gas and did about 8 droppings on my dressing gown. But at least he didn't pee on me

So glad mine are not the only filthy ones. The visiting girls have been with us 4 days now and their cage is immaculate. They are also very polite and share their food.

My boys were cleaned out yesterday evening and this morning the cage is a disgrace. I've just given them some cabbage and they argued over the same tiny piece.

I'm wondering if the girls owners will notice if we switch pigs.

yes their balls are amazing aren't they. so out of proportion with the rest of them and to think BP's previous owner thought him a girl LOL.

As male pigs go, he isn't too bad in the tidiness area. been out today and cage has been cleaned out. on a towel in kitchen now.

When OB lived with his brother they always had a special poo corner. But they weren't tidy with the food. OB's brother used to runaway with his food and eat it in bed. OB being the dominate one had first dibs on the veggies.

The girls are real mucky pups. Wee/poo anywhere. Spray wee up the walls. Yuk.
