any one else keep mice?

just curious really. they were the first pets i got when i was 18.
recently got some more and during the absent years of keeping them - new stuff has come about.

like the natural woodland brand if thats the right name. would this be any good or will it just be a bigger job to clean as wood soaks pee right?

they will soon be moving into an old exo terra glass lizard tank, large amount of space to run around so would like to make it as close to nature as possible and dont really want to fill it with plastic houses.

whats your ideas?

Would that tank be well-ventilated enough?

DD had fancy mice for 18months & I thought they were among our best small pets ever. Cute & low effort.
I don't know about Natural Woodland brand, we kept ours on Megazorb.
You can get fruit tree branches I think, and special little wooden logs. We had lots of little cardboard boxes for ours to run in and out of (like little boxes tea bags come in).

yes it has a complete mesh top and small vent holes at the front.

is megazorb hard to get hold of? ive never heard of it. i did a quick google on it - and it sounds perfect :)

because it used to house a gecko, the tank has lots of branches (all treated) to climb.

also where can i get hold of fruit tree branhes?

Megazorb pretty common around here, bigger pet shops & horse supply places stock it. Cost is pretty much same as wood shavings.

Geckos don't chew on their branches, do they? Just dunno what they'd be treated with.

Do you know anyone with a fruit tree you could take some very small branches off of? I think any deciduous tree branches might be fine (Google it, though). Everything in my garden is so overgrown from heavy rain this year followed by hot sun, I'll be massively pruning this autumn anyway. Could even ask around on Freegle.

no they dont chew or mess on the branches. im sure ive read that you can put branches in the oven to kill any parasites and bacteria. but will double check.

ive check a few of my local large store but they dont stock it.

i dont know any one with a fruit tree, what about over the field? theres plum tree and blackberry bushes? is that same sort of thing???
