Guinea pigs on the lawn if it rains a bit...yay or nay?

Just that, really. Obviously not if it's one of those pouring-down-with-no-respite kind of days, but would you leave yours out if the weather was kind of sunny-showery?

We're having real April shower type weather where we are at the moment, and I have been leaving our guineas out in their run unless it starts seriously pouring. Which means they've been left out during a few shorter showers when the weather has subsequently brightened up again....But does this sound OK? I know that guineas don't like the cold and damp but our boars really benefit from at least 3/4 hours outdoor run time daily and the short rain showers don't seem to bother them at all. They have waterproof hidey boxes, half the run is covered with a waterproof cover so they have plenty of shelter. And the outside temperature is pretty warm. Should also add that our garden is blessed with very good draining soil and our lawn dries out incredibly quickly after a rainshower, so no waterlogged or soggy ground....

So, d'you think I'm okay to keep doing as I've been doing? Their coats are never even damp when I go to bring them in, their paws feel warm, and they seem perfectly happy...

Mine have a little plastic igloo to hide in if they want shelter (£6 pets at home) it has a base to keep them off the grass

We have a rabbit run (7' x 4') and I cover one half with an old shower curtain pegged to the bars.
They have a wooden house to keep them sheltered and some rubber carmats that I wipe before they go out.

GPs can make their legs into real giraffe legs if they want to keep their bellies off the grass. . They can decide if they want to go in or out, but like your pigs they have warm feet and dry fur. I think they need to grab their grazing time when they can. If it's nice when I'm home they can be out all day. Otherwise it's a couple of hours when I get in from work. If they get no grass time, I cut them a handful of grass. (spoilt)

Of course in the wild they all have umberellas

My two seem immune to wet. Their desire for grass outweighs any worries about getting wet/

I accidentally left mine out in the rain yesterday - it had been lovely but a sudden shower caught them out and I was reading a mag doing housework and didn't notice. When I dashed out to rescue them, one was asleep in his house and the other was grazing in the exposed bit of the run oblivious to the rain.

They're inside piggies and from their cage they have a good view of both the fridge and the back door - they squeak like mad when I open either one!
