What do they do all day?

My GPs go outside at 6.30 am on my work days, otherwise 7.30-8am.
They have their heat pads and hay ,food and vegetables.
But it's so dark at the moment, even when it gets light there's limited daylight.
I know they spend most of their time in the hay box, eating.
But do they run around? Plot their escape? Chat amongst themselves?

Do rodents get SAD? Or does their natural body clock just tell them to sleep.Save their efforts for summer.
It's not as though they have to forage for food or mate with legoins of adoring female piggies. Hmm

House Bun is let out of his crate when dp gets up at 7. he plays with his toys, eats (food and hay), chases the cat but mostly seems to sprawl in one of his sprawling-places.

He seems happy Confused

Yeah, he hops after her and she goes round in a circle so he can keep up.

Then she jumps up an a stool and miaous at him, kinda "haha i won" type thing. They also bat irritatingly rattly balls to and fro...

She has no idea what's in her food

I sometimes work from home and my boars seem to do most of the same things Purple Pidjin's bun does. If they're on the floor, they'll try and cuddle or chase the cat as well! :-)

I think they tend to have short-ish naps, then get up for a drink, a munch, groom, have a wee and a poo and then wander upstairs (in their cage that is) and play the toy piano or the bells for a bit, snack on some hay, maybe chew the bite and roll or chew up a toilet roll core, then repeat it all again.

If they've been out on the floor, they do seemed to be whacked out when they go back in.

Having said all that, I suspect one of them has a smart phone hidden in his room for checking his stock portfolio. If a guinea pig could carry a briefcase, he'd be the sort who would.

Aaah, Briefcase Guinea has that

"Hmm, Tell me about your childhood" look about him. (Thomas Dolby throwback)

Ha ha, I remember that song (he's not old enough though!) Well, he's actually applying to become the "Agony Uncle" for Guinea Pig Magazine (more Marjorie Poops than Marjorie Proops!) so you might be on to something there!

chase each other around, nibble grass, strut, chase, nibble. Jump up on shelters, strut, nibble, chase.
One of mine more or less constantly struts, second boar responds & the third just runs to get out of the way or get to the food bowl first.
It's good, boys need a lot of exercise.
