Rabbit with a dreadlock stuck to her tail - what do I do?

I have several rabbits, one of which is a white lionhead. She is prone to dreadlocks round her back legs and tail which I normally trim off for her.

I was trimming today and realised one ran along her tail and if I snipped it off, I would snip her tail too.

How do I remove it?

The only thing I can think to do is to soak it off which would mean that she would have to stay in overnight, away from her bunny friends outside, until she was properly dry as it is getting cold here.

Anyone any alternative inspiration or will she have to have a lonely night?

There's a thing you can buy in the shops which is a mat cutter - it's just a pointy tip and a blade and you force it through the matband it cuts it up into smaller pieces - the idea being that then it's easier to tease out the mat with your fingers. Not sure if it will completely work but it's worth a try? Apparently you can get de-matting combs too - worth a try also!

DD1 has a long-haired guinea pig who occasionally gets a little matted patch in his groin area and she clips it off with hair clippers (the ones I cut DH's hair with!). She takes the length guard off so it's on the "skinhead" setting IYSWIM.

There is practically zero chance of cutting into/off anything and injuring your rabbit; you just need someone to hold her securely (wrapping her in a towel might help).
