Rabbit eating less

I've just got back from 3 nights away, during which time my rabbit would normally have eaten 1 2/3 of the two full bowls of food I would leave him with. On this occasion he has only eaten half of one bowl. He seems alert and active and generally happy, and he has got through his usual amount of water. Is there any ?seasonal reason why he might have eaten so little? How concerned should I be? It just seems such a startlingly small amount...
