We're in Hampshire, we're looking for 2 baby (boy, preferably) guinea pigs that will be ready to leave mum early-mid June - can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

Have you contacted all your local rescue centres? I would also ask at your local vets. Please, please, please don't buy any - it just encourages over breeding and in breeding.

Hopefully this will bump your thread and someone closer to you can point you in the right direction.

I second what carrots says please find a GP rescue and get them from there. They will have made sure that the pair that you have get on well and are healthy etc. There are so many poor little GPs that need a home out there.

Nothing at the vets, just been in there this am. Will try rescue centres, thanks. Thought that starting here was a good place to start, I'm sure no MNetters are over breeding/in breeding.....

We tried for months to find a pair of rescue GP's, and also to find a decent local breeder but had no luck.

Finally gave in and brought two pet shop guinea pigs last week. They are Abysinian boys and so georgeous.

Good luck with your seach, it's not easy doing the right thing sometimes!

Sometimes it takes a bit of patience.

How did you get on with the rescue centres Snow?

Sorry chaps, haven't been back on for a while, I'm now in touch with Wheak and Squeak to see if they have anything suitable.... Goodness no wonder people just go out and buy from pet shops....
