He's got 2 eyes which look sticky/weeping. Eyes themselves look clear with no build up of discharge or crusts etc, but furr nearby always looks wet and a bit matted. Have cleaned area with plain water, but still looks the same.

Any ideas? He's almost 2. And lives with 2 guineas, they all get on fine. Guineas are ok.

I have bathed Bouncer's eyes with salty water (cooled boiled water) when it looks like the hair is getting sticky and uncomfortable.

You can get eyedrops from your vet - worth getting them checked out as eye infections in rabbits can turn nasty. They aren't very good at washing out irritants from their eyes (which is why they are used for shampoo-in-eyes tests in labs Sad) and something minor can become serious quickly if left untreated.

Do you have insurance? I didn't! My Bunny had this, his eyes weeping, fur looking wet but was matted & dry no amount of bathing helped, it turned out to be down to the back teeth being overgrown, at a cost of £120 to trim teeth and wash eye ducts, i nearly fell over at the desk when the nice little old lady produced invoice!

Low and behold no insurance will cover him for his teeth now...Hmm
