just waiting for the phone call; but glad she is being so well cared for.
We took her to a vet recommended by the Cambridge Cavy Trust on Wed as we noticed she was not eating and not her chirpy self - drove 130 miles each way.
They found a tumour on her kidneys and her wee was full of blood so they gave her antibiotics, pain med and syringed fed her. Sadly it was not due to an infection, and she deteriorated.
They phoned about an hour ago to tell me she has slipped into a coma and will slip away very peacefully in the next couple of hours; but she is warm and comfy wrapped in vet bed and next to a radiator. Every now and then they give her a cuddle although she is no longer conscious, and the husband has taken her into bed with him now so she stays warm and loved till the end.
A lovely way to go!
