DS's hamster is squeaking!

Is this normal? I've had loads of hamsters over the years, but never heard anything but a squeaky wheel.

The hamster seems happy and healthy, but is squeaking like a mouse. Anyone know why?

My sister's hamster sometimes squeaked - he was a syrian, and it generally seemed to be if he was surprised or excited. I was looking after him while she was in Oz, and once I got him out when I was talking to her on Skype and the sound of her voice seemed to prompt a little squeaking frenzy!

It's normal mine does it sometimes-it's proper cute and when I say oh Custy you are squeaking, aren't you clever! she does it more and gets very excited!
