Try big bundles of fresh mint around her hutch. Flies hate it.

Failing that, cover her run with muslin.

thanks, mint didn't work and wonder where i can get such a large amountof muslin?

they keep sitting on here, it's worrying me that there are so many, her cage is spotless

There are two products that help repel the flies Xenex spot on that you need to apply every 2 weeks and Rearguard that lasts 10 weeks. Are the flies landing on her because she has soiling, if so washing her off and drying her at least once daily can really help.

i don't know lizcat, she is really on her last legs and i've checked her all over she is clean as far as i can tell, am confused why they are literally all over her. am wondering if it would be kinder to take her to the vet for the inevitable as would hate for her to get flystrike

Have you got some old net curtains lying around (non holey ones of course)? They are perfect, simply cut to the size of the cage and staple them to the front of her cage.

That will keep those flies out.
