So I’ve been addicted to Co Codamol & Nurofen plus for 3 years, I’ve finally come to a point where I’m ready to stop.. I filled a Asda bag with every packet including empty sheets that I had in my house, when I say there were 100’s.. I diddnt know where to put them so I tied the Asda bag then put it into a Grey postage bag and disposed of it in a local public bin near my house…. Now I feel sick with worry what if they find the packaging suspicious look into it and see what’s in there and as there’s a extreme amount could they check cctv could I get in trouble for this. It’s making me sick with worry I’m over thinking so bad??

Hello I didn’t want to read and run as I can sense the panic in your post. First well done for taking the first steps - do contact your GP for support as this may be very helpful for you. If someone looks in the bag from a waste disposal team (unlikely) then they’ll see its OTC meds and dispose of it as they should. You haven’t done anything illegal (based on what you’ve written). Also, They aren’t prescription drugs so no name or address on it. I cannot imagine a scenario when anyone would check the cctv in such circumstances. But I doubt my reassurances will resolve this. Gently, I’d suggest the anxiety you feel round this might reflect a much deeper worry about medication use and stopping - which is understandable. Do you have someone to support you - friend/family? Take care

As the other poster said - you haven't done anything illegal. There is nothing anyone could do! Try not to worry about it as there is absolutely no need and focus on your goal - well done 👏

Firstly, well done in clearing them out of temptation's way.
Secondly, do get an appointment at your GP. Sometimes coming off strong drugs, you may need some help, or if you get side effects, you will just go back to them.
Thirdly, pat yourself on the back. You have got this
