How much is too much?

Hi all,

I am a mother with a busy family full of after-school commitments and weekend activities. I myself, as a socialite, have a busy schedule with lots of commitments requiring vast amounts of preparation.

I find myself relaxing with a bottle of wine/gin in the afternoon/evening, or maybe two!

I am asking, how much is too much drinking? When should I be concerned?

I was at a yoga retreat last weekend, where I was unable to consume any alcohol for the whole 48 hours. In the evening, I found myself becoming very pale and shakey, and desperately craving a drink of the alcoholic sort.

When should I check myself in at the Priory?

Thanks for reading.

For me personally if you can’t go a night or 2 without then your consuming too much. Others might see it differently :)

Yes if 48 without alcohol is difficult I think you have a problem.
I would say it is ok to drink a full bottle of wine as a special occasion but not everyday and certainly not more than one bottle. It is very important to have days where you don’t drink.

Thank you both.

I have thought about this and I'm going to not drink until my birthday in April.

It will be a challenge but after your comments and my further consideration I do believe it will be a necessary challenge.

Thank you again.
