Coming off sleeping tablets

Any advise on coming off sleeping tablets? I have been on 15mg of stilnoct for about 7 years and have become very dependent on them. Probably addicted. I have tried to come off them before but couldn't sleep and felt extremely anxious and restless the next day. To the point of not functioning well at all( which isn't an option with a three year old child to look after)

Tonight I plan on taking 10mg . Is this too much too soon? I know in the long run I will feel better without them. I think they are starting to affect my memory and I feel tired and groggy the next day. I need to do this. Help.

Also to add . Cutting it down to 10mg from 15mg was suggested by my GP. How long am I gonna feel shit though ? That's my real question or am I stuck talking them to not feel withdrawals forever.

I think 15 to 10 should be fine. What’s the tapering plan after that?

I think it's two weeks at 10mg. Then after that probably 5 mgđŸ™ˆđŸ˜ I think it's tonight I'm dreading the most.

How did you go @summerfinn ?

Slept okay woke at 5. It's today I'm not looking forward to. The last time I did this at around 4pm I started feeling sick and anxious.

That could be sleep anxiety though as opposed to withdrawal.
Your body will adjust over the next few days. Keep going - you’ve got this. You cannot stay on stilnoct forever

You don't think it's withdrawal? . Is it too little a difference between 15mg and 10mg to be withdrawl.?

In my opinion yes it’s too small a difference to cause significant withdrawal symptoms
