Emotions When Withdrawing

I'm determined to cut down on my addiction and eventually give it up. It's been going quite well over the past week.

Before, I would use the addiction to give myself a boost but now I'm facing all sorts of emotions. I'm beginning to get quite angry about certain things that are going on in my life.

Is this normal and part of the recovery process?

Firstly, well done!
Yes, this is entirely normal. You are now feeling emotions that your addiction had not allowed you to feel. You can work through it, just remember this will take time and might feel bad. But it is necessary and by confronting the emotions you're granting yourself a way of moving through the pain, anger or negative feelings of the past.
Keep going, once you're through then life is truly amazing.

@DetoxedAlcoholic - thank you! I had a little blip yesterday but didn't binge. Overall it's been quite a good week.
