It's a tough journey. You will need support for yourself too (Gamanon are good for the partners and families of gamblers.)

Gamcare is great for advice and support, both for people struggling with gambling and for friends and relatives. Practically GAMSTOP and Gamban restrict access to online gambling sites.
There is a subscription fee for gamban though if he self-excludes an online account the operator will sometimes provide a link where you can get it free of charge.
