I am not sure if this is the right question for here...please don't shout at me.

I have been hooked on an OTC drug for sleep - antihistamine - for years. More recently, a drug to keep me alert and awake. Yes, one thing chased another.

I didn't intend to come off both at the same time but it ended up happening.

I feel better apart from a headache..but I look like shit. It's a good thing we can't meet anyone because I have bloodshot eyes. In short, I look like a bit of a druggie when I've had nothing since Tuesday!

Does it seem at all normal to anyone? I will have to be at work on Tuesday. I hope I look more normal by then! It's only today I woke up with weirdly bloodshot eyes. Thanks.

What were you taking to keep awake, have you managed to sleep since coming off the pills. I dont know how detox could give you bloodshot eyes but someone here might know more unless its not having the anti histamines. Do you have any allergies or hayfever. Congratulations on trying to detox. It must be hard.

Thank you
Yes, I have hayfever but the night time anti histamine covered that.

I wasn't taking stuff to keep awake but more stay focused. I don't know what I'm allowed to say here.

The first night I slept 5 hours which wasn't bad at all but I had a couple of drinks. Last two nights I have had no booze, no pills, nothing - and slept 7/8 hours.

I nearly took something for my headache today but opted for tiger balm and was fine.

I was honestly surprised to see the bloodshot eyes in the mirror.

Could it be the hayfever if you've stopped taking antihistamines

I guess the anti histamine for years could mask all kinds of things.

It's anticholigenec or whatever the word is but red eyes wasn't a symptom of withdrawal.
