I feel ashamed to tell anyone but I’ve been taking these tablets for several years after a violent relationship due to how things are going I can no longer get these so yesterday I took my last one and today My legs ache I feel sick headache and feel very anxious anyone else been through this and I think I have a lot worse to come xx

I did cold turkey a few years ago.
I can't lie it was rough BUT the physical effects go after a week and then another week to find your feet.
I'm two weeks you will be codeine free.
Fourteen days and you will be free.
If possible get some soup or easy food to tide you over the nausea and vom.

How much were you taking daily?

DB went cold turkey when he locked down 3 weeks ago. It has been v rough but he is now free of it and feeling well. He looks better already and has more energy.

I was taking 9 a day don’t feel too bad at minute just got a awful taste in my mouth ! How many were you taking. X

At my peak I was taking 12 a day sometimes 15 but I was hooked on remedeine 500 paracetamol 30dhc so at least 360mg of dhc.
I was lying to the docs and getting a private scrip and still didn't twig I was an addict.

The worse bit of my rattle was the shits but I have bowel problems already so I used immodium, for the itchies anti histamines and tried to load fruit and veg.

It isn't nice but I promise it doesn't last

I'm in the same boat. Am isolating as DP has coronavirus. Really want to use the next week to quit but it's so hard. For me anxiety and not sleeping are the biggest issues.

You can do it Phoebs focus on the following week.
You know it will be shit for a few days but the following week you will be ok.

Same boat here. Detoxing of tramadol and codiene. I was taking 6 tram a day 3 am and 3 pm. Codiene 30mg 2 tablets 4 times a day. Tomorrow will be week one of just having 2 tram a day and 4 codiene. I feel your pain. Ache legs, sick feeling and can't sleep. I was advised to wean off them as cold turkey is different for individuals. Still in pain with endometriosis and slipped disk but seriously rely on meds and fed up. My family are supportive but don't really appreciate it. I'm also a carer for my daughter with ME and PoTs and I need to function. Also a job standing up all day which I'm unable to do atm due to lockdown so as much as this is an awful time I believe it's a blessing aswel. Stay strong and work on mindset too. Xx

I've been on Co codamol 30s for about 8 years. On a good day I just take 3 or 4 but on a bad day it's 8. They no longer do much for pain but they keep me calm tbh. I'd love to stop but I've tried and I get so angry, shaky and body is in agony.

It's a horrible secret thing that is so underestimated.

How is everyone doing?
I'm a dihydrocodeine addict too, at my worst was taking 30 tablets a day. I rattled once for two days when waiting for an order (offline) and it was horrendous. The restless legs were the worst, and the diarrhoea and anxiety

Remember that cold tiekey isnt the only option. I'm on suboxone a maintenance drug, and reducing at the moment. It really helped me.

Na meetings also helped me. I will post a link to the wattsapp women in recovery group if people want it, there are links to na meetings on there and its really helpful.

I'm struggling atm. Have been drinking lots and ordered dihydrocodeine offline. Theres been am issue with the pharmacy sending it however they're resending it apparently
