Hello netmums. I am sitting here wondering how I can stop eating again, and realised I find it so damn hard to resist food. I smoked for 20years drank every weekend. I quit smoking and drinking when I had my oldest girl. It was difficult, specially the smoking but I did it and still don't smoke rarely drink at all. And yet stopping myself from having that one last mcds or takeaway or anything really is just to hard for me. So what I am trying to ask is, can food be addicting? Any one else's thoughts on this??

Yes food can be addicting and it sounds as if you have replaced one addiction with another, very common. Maybe try an overeaters or binge eaters support group, best of luck.

OA is a 12 step programme for eating disorders. Do take a look, all meetings on zoom at the mo - attend and listen, go to a good few meetings - 6? - before you decide whether to carry on. You'll find your tribe there! Or at least identify with everything you hear (and that's half the battle imo).
