Support for sleeping pill addiction

hi there
I wonder if anyone can help me
I just need to check in somewhere for support

I am addicted to sleeping pills and not just one
I've been combining prescription meds with drowsy anthistamine

the thing is, for the first time in years, I have slept really well on them.

but recently I realised they are making my whole system sluggish, my memory is bad, my general health is poor. Plus I'm spending a fortune on a private prescription. They accept - from sleep studies - that my normal sleep is terrible, but the only other suggestions they have are amitryptaline, which made me feel ill, and then there's trying an SNRI. I'm already on SSRI and that made me gain weight, quite a bit.

I can't cope with more weight gain.

I'd like to just learn to sleep again, using yoga and meditation. I accept there's going to be a few sleepless nights with this but I'm off work till Wednesday so now seems a good time to start.

can anyone help please? Thanks.

Don't know if this helps to know you are not alone.. but I used to be addicted to an over the counter sleeping tablet for a couple of years, eventually they caused me to have seizures and hallucinations 😕
Have you got a close friend or even a doctor you can confide in?
