When she was on the news at the weekend, DH and I were nearly crying with laughter at her lilac eyeshadow and alarming blow-dry. Especially as I had been complaining my current 'do makes me look at bit over the hill. DH wonders if my next cut should be The Sue.

CompyCod · 08/07/2010 08:36

what si is with women named sue?

OP posts:
TaudrieTattoo · 08/07/2010 08:38

It makes her look like the lovechild of Rod Hull and Madge off Neighbours.

She needs Heather Mills to pour a jug of water over her
head.

Did wonders for that solicitor, whatshername.

MayorNaze · 08/07/2010 08:38

you are obsessed with people named sue

i bet that is actually your rl name

where have you BEEN susan? i had bookness to discuss with you and everything on the prep thread...

monkeysmama · 08/07/2010 08:43

I am so pleased to see this thread and that I'm not the only one to notice. Yes, not only the hair but the eye shadow!

Anyone else noticed the other guy who appears after her in the criminal black and white pinstripe suit? He had it on with a b&w checked shirt and psychedelic tie the other day. Indeed he wears that suit every day.

CompyCod · 08/07/2010 08:44

god i have been SO busy in rl, and then you knwo when you click " threads im on" and they are all ancient adn you ahvent time to start a new windup one and you think oh sod it i almost prefer twitter

i quite like the other copper. although his hair is a bit 80s throw back.
I used to like the gingery one off the bill though #noshame

tigerbear · 08/07/2010 08:44

Frightful, just frightful!
However, poor woman, she has erm, much more important things to be sorting out than her hair, has she not?

CompyCod · 08/07/2010 08:45

my fave copper
now he just does gritty depressing voiceovers

OP posts:
deaddei · 08/07/2010 08:47

Glad it's not just dh and I who have been watching her hair take over the press conferences.

CompyCod · 08/07/2010 08:47

ooh he is a bit like Gene Hunt
terrible hair

"DO THEY NOT HAVE HAIRDRESSERS IN NORTHERNLAND?
"

no

I travel a 40mile round trip to get a haircut (I have long hair, all one length so should be easy) that isn't either "grab and snip while talking to a friend" (£5 - not joking!) or the whole Toni and guy washing, faffing and charging a fortune, which i hate!

CompyCod · 08/07/2010 08:48

I volunteer myself to Northumbria police. Nay i sacrifice myself to their image needs.

OP posts:
MayorNaze · 08/07/2010 08:48

oh tweeting my arse you've been off getting your gym gear monogrammed with Susan in twirly letters or something...

do you not think that the home office should have gok or somebody on standby for emergency styling in the case of sudden unexpected tv appearances?

imagine trying to sneak that into the budget...

CompyCod · 08/07/2010 08:52

Do you think Acting chief constable Sue Sim has had her hair in Raollers?

OP posts:
deaddei · 08/07/2010 09:02

She does have a face for radio

polyhymnia · 08/07/2010 10:54

I also felt very unsisterly to think it but did think her hairstyle was a tribute to Ashes to Ashes - or even Life on Mars.

NorkyButNice · 08/07/2010 10:57

It's the eyeshadow that always catches me unawares.

Who actually wears shiny silver eyeshadow to work?

CompyCod · 08/07/2010 11:00

er...

OP posts:
CarmelitaMiggs · 08/07/2010 11:00

I love Sue and her 'do

It reminds me of a three-leaf clover: a blob over each side and one on top

Come on Sue, catch the fecker!

(Would she have better luck if she modelled it on a four-leaf clover?)

muggglewump · 08/07/2010 11:01

Even DD pointed out her awful hair. I snigger every time she comes on TV. She has a stupid voice too and surely bought that eyeshadow back in the 80's?

Adair · 08/07/2010 11:02

Oh, now normally I would notice and judge inwardly but really. She just looks like a woman. FGS she is acting Chief Constable. What the fuck does it matter if you don't like her hairstyle?!

(and I am aware this is a so-called light-hearted thread but SOMEONE needs to get stampy foot and outraged!)

DarrellRivers · 08/07/2010 11:03

I too like the male copper with his lovely accent

And the poor BBC correspondent for the North who has been there for Bird and now for Moat
