Nooooooo - placed first Boden order on Monday (maxi dress). No idea sale starting this week.... I clearly need to learn these essential sale dates...

Can you see if it's in the sale mandskh, then buy a new one and send the old one back for a refund?

Nothing that I want in my size or in DS's size. Heigh ho.

Also spent £265, on what would have cost £570 ish. (and DH very kindly put it on his credit card).

very nice, thankyou mumsnetters for the heads up.

Aha - thanks belledec.....top idea! It is in the sale..will return first thing tomorrow morning..

I would have done the same with the dress I brought yesterday only they didn't have any left. I'm pleased I brought it yesterday.

I think it's a bit off of them to start it early. There isn't anything I want actually but it's rather unfair on people who were expecting tomorrow.

Report
belledechocolatefluffybunny · 01/07/2010 19:52

Did they say that they would start it tomorrow?

Report
purplepeony · 01/07/2010 21:01

Why the F did they do that?

Checked site this morning and it was as normal.

Anyway, got 2 pieces of knitwear which is autumn wear but all the T shirts etc I wanted are soldout.

Now am undecided between Satchel and sumptuous leather handbag. Have free returns label so will order both.

Northernlurker I don't think there was anything official about when it was going to start, that was just peoples expectations.

I have already invented fictional child care issues so can come in at paid start time of 9.30am rather than boss preferred 9.00am, spose I can have a lie in

I'm guessing they tried to get ahead of the Joules sale which starts tomorrow !

Report
Northernlurker · 01/07/2010 21:12

Usually somebody rings up and then posts the date that they're told. I'm sure I saw 02/07 referred to? Maybe I dreamt that Anyway it certainly isn't usually late on an afternoon.

Having said I didn't want anything I have now bought a dress, a skirt and a top for my girls

domesticsluttery · 01/07/2010 21:55

Wheelybug that's what I thought too.

The Joules sale brochure came in the post today saying that it started tomorrow, noy doubt Boden wanted to be one step ahead.

It worked too, I like tunics in both but have gone for the Boeden one in case the Joules one is out of stock when I go on tomorrow.

Will still probably spend too much there as well though...

I really don't get what it is with that satchel bag - it's really not that exciting and even the sale price is fairly eye watering.

Report
domesticsluttery · 02/07/2010 05:56

No, I'm not a fan of the satchel bag... but each to their own! I like the must-have shopper but can't justify buying another bag.

This sale plus the favourable Pound/Dollar exchange rate is going to be eeeeeeeeeeeeevil.

Belle - my nephew is a tallish 11 year old so maybe it will fit.....in a year or two. No harm in buying in advance, hey.

I seems to have bought some more dresses, in different sizes, oh dear.

I ordered the must have shopper in silver and the carnaby wallet in navy, last night. Both are now showing as sold out. What are the chances of them actually arriving?!

Report
Oumasrusks · 02/07/2010 10:07

Cabatach - I think if they showed as in stock when you checked out the chances are pretty good. I've never had something not arrive even if the stock was low when I ordered.

Report
Cabatach · 02/07/2010 10:15

I have had stuff not arrive when showing as normal stock - a few months ago! I'm keeping my fingers crossed !

I love that satchel bag (got it already with 20% discount) but can't help feeling I'm going to see a spate of them hitting the streets now! It's a really good size and I think quite stylish.
Anyway, has anyone got the 'fun-loving' (yuk!) short shorts? I just ordered them and was hoping someone will tell me they are chic and flattering on!

Does anyone know whether xs in JohnieB will fit a 9 year old? I like the t shirt dress.

I havent seen anything for myself, I bought stuff over the Summer and ended up sending alot of it back. I did wear the linen kaftan to death on holiday. I like the look of the brown wedges but I dont know how easy they would be to walk in.

I dont think the reductions are that stunning, considering how expensive it is in the first place. Spent about 90 on 8 childrens things so thats not bad.

Oh, and if anyone fancies the straight jeans I can vouch that the brigh blue ones look fab on and at 29 they are a bargain!

Cabatach - oh no, don't tell me that! I hope my stuff arrives now.

Fnacy the sale starting yesterday! Anyway I looked in on it at 7.30 this morning and bought swimwear for the DC, and a halter-neck dress and ruffle-neck t-shirt I'd been eyeing up since Spring, plus another dress which might do for a wedding.
