1940s red lipstick?

I know this is a bizarre ask but does anyone know any shade of red lipstick available now (any range) that is a good deep dark red (with blue tones) and not pink? I have bought one from Rimmel last week and one from Benefit yesterday both which were completely wrong and pink (even though the counter person swore blind that it was right).

I need it next week to complete a 40s outfit for Glasto...

I have also made the mistake of trying it on at work without lip liner etc and now cant get it off again...FFS.

Yeah, I love my red lippies but Russian Red is to pink and bright on my skin. Went all round the MAC reds (I much prefer the Diva shade for a dark red with a bit of pink) but the NARs one is the one that works for me. Also Chanel's Lune Rousse.

Late to the game, but Besame is the most wonderful lipstick which (I believe) is based on vintage lipstick shades.

I just cant afford any more though - why do things look so pink on me?weird - I might check out the barry m one as that will be cheap...

Besame Cherry Red is much more blue based, it's the one I use the most. It is expensive, but very high quality.
