well you know PRODUCT, not my " beauty" or lack therefof

ok NOTHING To tell yet about the clinique dark spot corrector.
i got the estee lauder advance night repair for birthday and tbh its a bit meh
was disappointed as i had great hopes.

i still LOVE and beseech you all to try this
pot au rouge. I am swarthy but nonetheless have it in a MUCH browner shade than i would have chosen , ask for adivce its sheeny andslightly dewy and SO natural looking that it gives oyu a hint of 70s health!

right then i LOVE the BB under eye concealer in Bisque( yes i poncily call it BEESK)here but couldnt lug the brush and it around to work when you look and say AARGh at lunchtime i need makeup
so i have just invested in this teeny tiny one in a cute little portable pen to shove in handbag and its not like the YSL one that makes you look like a panda in negative.

Thank you thank you thank you to whoever recommended the eyebrow threading lady in HN in Bristol. I look like I have lost weight (sorely needed) after she had finished with me. Amazing

Oh God I'm BORED OF MAKE UP

I've lost my mojo

lol cyb
you've prob just got too much of the damn stuff like me
I have two drawers of makeup

Have started using an old dior eye pencil in navy that must be 10 yrs old ..it is fna-bloody -tastic
must see if they do the same one this decade

pot au rouge stuff is great -i bought it a few weeks ago , didn't realise I could use it on my lips as well

OneFishTwoFish · 14/06/2010 21:33

Jajas - I have the Diorshow Blackout which is the first one in that link and it's excellent. The brush is massive and takes a bit of getting used to and I find it goes on much better if I wipe a bit of the excess off on a tissue before applying.

I tried Lancome Hypnose Drama recently and was very disappointed. I have quite long eyelashes anyway so need mascara to add volume and colour rather than length. I think the Lancome might be more suitable for people who want to add length primarily.

Diorskin nude foundation is really good. The best I've tried in that price range.

The only thing I really rate from Benefit is the powder blushes in boxes - Coralista etc

Not hugely impressed with any of the Laura Mercier stuff I've tried.

By Terry, very very good. Love the eyeshadows.

Tinted moisturiser - love the Mac sheer tint. And I like their lip products.

Chantecaille Le Stylo eyeliner pen.

The best cheapo brand I've tried is either Revlon, or Barbara Daly at Tesco's.

Best nail polish - Virgin Vie, seriously.

If anyone's in NZ or Austalia, get the to thy nearest Mecca Cosmeticca and see if they are doing the "Icons" promotion. Let them do your makeup, spend $90 on product and you get a gift box of 10 decent sized samples of some of their best sellers.

Including the best lip balm ever

Stuff they used on me:
Mecca own-brand illuminated primer - gorgeous and not too expensive
By Terry foundation - loved it, want it, can't afford it
Ellie Fais (?) Concealer - very similar to Touche Eclat no 2
Stila Illuminated powder
Nars Fez eyeshadow - bronzey colour great for green eyes
Some bronze eyeliner, possibly Stila
Nars Amour Blush
Mecca own brand lip conditioner - lovely

A couple of weeks ago the lady at the YSL counter was giving out samples of Touche Eclat and offered to "freshen me up". I was looking pretty unfresh so let her have a crack.

She used YSL foundation (in a gold tube with built-in brush) which was lovely, caked on Touche Eclat. Then she slathered on dark eyeshadow, thick eyeliner and plastered me in mascara. Had to go back to work looking like a drag queen.

Right.

Pot au rouge - lovely - colour stayed in place all day.

Eye brightener - very good - did make a big difference.

Champagne eye shadow - good neutral colour for everyday.

Double-wear in graphite - lovely - love how it glides on. May have to invest in another colour.

Have dark blue/grey eyes but lady on the EL counter couldn't really advise on other colours. May have to go to Harvey Nichols as they're far more helpful there.

But good buys so thank you Alaska.
