well you know PRODUCT, not my " beauty" or lack therefof

ok NOTHING To tell yet about the clinique dark spot corrector.
i got the estee lauder advance night repair for birthday and tbh its a bit meh
was disappointed as i had great hopes.

i still LOVE and beseech you all to try this
pot au rouge. I am swarthy but nonetheless have it in a MUCH browner shade than i would have chosen , ask for adivce its sheeny andslightly dewy and SO natural looking that it gives oyu a hint of 70s health!

right then i LOVE the BB under eye concealer in Bisque( yes i poncily call it BEESK)here but couldnt lug the brush and it around to work when you look and say AARGh at lunchtime i need makeup
so i have just invested in this teeny tiny one in a cute little portable pen to shove in handbag and its not like the YSL one that makes you look like a panda in negative.

I can't stand benefit. I think it is all crap in polly pocket packaging. Make up for people who know nothing about make up.

AlaskaNebraska · 14/06/2010 13:44

agreed

Fish you are right to be wary - VL not for very pale/pinky skins.

you want bobbi if you are a vampire English Rose.

angelene · 14/06/2010 13:46

OK I need new blusher soon, normally get MAC but am open to others.

I have never had a cream one though, I find them a bit intimidating as I feel I'd overdo it and end up looking like La Roux or something.

AlaskaNebraska · 14/06/2010 13:47

it is SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEER
go get it
its fabbola

I think I have just grown out of Benefit (am 30 now). The only thing I rate is Benetint, which is a great blusher for me and stays on forever.

My all time favourite product which I recommend to everyone is Eve Lom cleanser. I had appalling skin until my early 20s and since using this it has been perfect.

Make up favourites include Diorshow mascara, MAC eyeshadow pigments, Du Wop lip venom and this Chanel liquid eyeshadow www.chanel.com/en_US/fragrance-beauty/Makeup-Eyeshadow-OMBRE-D'EAU-89193. I have shade 90 and it is lovely.

AlaskaNebraska · 14/06/2010 13:55

YY to dior show mascara

I too love the BB pot rouge thing, but even though I have Mediterranean colouring, I got one in a shade too dark, which is most disappointing - it's a sort of chocolatey-cherry colour that just looks like I've had too much red wine. Good texture though.
My cheap tip for the day is maybelline colorsensational gloss in redlove which is fab for my colouring!

angelene · 14/06/2010 14:18

Definitely need to try Dior Show as am on Clinique Naturally Glossy at the mo and I reckon there are better out there. I will try whichever one gives me a sample.

I had a Chanel sample which went on brilliantly and looked great but it REALLY smudged and it irritated my eyes really badly.

florenceuk · 14/06/2010 14:19

So can anybody recommend a miracle anti-ageing serum - have slightly freckled blotchy skin, still subject to occasional blemishes (argh) and am 44 - just want something to even things out a bit and smooth out the wrinkles....

GetOrfMoiLand · 14/06/2010 14:21

If you want to try a cream blush but don't want to fork out a lot - try the cream blush pots by tesco. They are £4 and fantastic - really good colours and last ages.

Also cream blush in a tube by Boots Natural Collection, of all things. Gives a really dewey finish and lasts.

KnottyLocks · 14/06/2010 14:31

I've just got a pot of this new CliniqueYouth Surge. I'm hoping it's as good as they say it is. Only been using it for 3 days so still a waiting game. It smells lovely and is incredibly rich and creamy so you don't need a lot.

Eye cream recommendations needed now, please.

angelene · 14/06/2010 14:38

Kiehl's avocado is really good if you have sensitive skin.

I love all their stuff actually and they are fantastic on samples - currently using a really brilliant hand cream sample which is 30ml big.

angelene · 14/06/2010 14:40

By which I mean the Kiehl's avocado eye cream.

scratchmyback · 14/06/2010 14:44

Clinique Illuminator is bloody brilliant. You can wear it under foundation, on its own or just to highlight cheeks and brows.

It was recommended to me and I bought some, it comes in 3 shades, I bought the natural one. I love it, evens skin tone out and gives a lovely dewy look.

willybreeder · 14/06/2010 15:09

There is a knack with Touche Eclat, just tap it gently into corner of eyes and under, round nose and down creases between nose n chin to disguise wrinkles, lots of people rub it on and it just wipes off, if it's too pale try the Clinque one they do different colours. If it starts to go off it will smell which means you've maybe left the lid off it, bin it! Bobbi's concealer is great too.
Benefit's Benetint is fab for faking a healthy glow, just be sure to blend in quickly.

ShadeofViolet · 14/06/2010 15:22

I like Benefit 'Eyebright', but the rest is really rubbsih for the price tag IMO.

I think everyone should own a Bobbi Shimmerbrick!

scratchmyback · 14/06/2010 15:35

I don't really like my Shimmerbrick, I find it a bit too sparkly and it kind of cakes on your face, too matte but with shimmer in it if you know what I mean!
I have just replaced mine with the Clarins due bronzer which I prefer a lot more.

AlaskaNebraska · 14/06/2010 16:34

i DONT like shimmerbrick

DO like clinique illuminator , cept mine has got old and smells so i binned it
