well you know PRODUCT, not my " beauty" or lack therefof

ok NOTHING To tell yet about the clinique dark spot corrector.
i got the estee lauder advance night repair for birthday and tbh its a bit meh
was disappointed as i had great hopes.

i still LOVE and beseech you all to try this
pot au rouge. I am swarthy but nonetheless have it in a MUCH browner shade than i would have chosen , ask for adivce its sheeny andslightly dewy and SO natural looking that it gives oyu a hint of 70s health!

right then i LOVE the BB under eye concealer in Bisque( yes i poncily call it BEESK)here but couldnt lug the brush and it around to work when you look and say AARGh at lunchtime i need makeup
so i have just invested in this teeny tiny one in a cute little portable pen to shove in handbag and its not like the YSL one that makes you look like a panda in negative.

Your MIL buys you conditioner?

God lucky you, mine buys me tissue box covers.

Agree re bobbi brown, have Porcelain for my ageing china doll look and it is fab. I apply with fingertip though, not a brush, is fine.

AlaskaNebraska · 14/06/2010 12:54

she has a hting about my hair being a mess i think.

Lol at Head Tilting madness. They are no worse than the mad bints on the Estee Lauder counters on House of Frase, though.

PLUS you get loads and loads of freebies shoved in your bag when you buy something.

Bless the girls though, put them in a white coat and get them selling make up and it makes them think they have PhD in Biochemistry. Had some mad soul in Lancome last week say that they have invented a cream which goes in your skin cells and changes the whole structure of your DNA. She really believed in it as well, bless her.

AlaskaNebraska · 14/06/2010 13:01

yes and the personal trainer at the gym said some madness about women not havign testosterone.
at this point you smile and wave as oyu knwo telling them the truth would expose you to accusations of poncery

would be good seperate thread.
what cack scence have you heard

start it do

i bought the by terry touche stuff, found it vg but it ran out too quickly. tesco's one, by babs daly, is excellent imo.
can't buy bobbi, their staff are too irritating. always want to paint my eyes like deirdre barlowe's.

the boobi brown lady in manchester is a dab hand with the warpaint, but v.tactless.

last time I was there I she told me "I can't let you leave like looking that" before adding eyeshadow, mascara and lippy.

Am only 32 FGS.

Aitch · 14/06/2010 13:06

lololol excellent name and story.

AlaskaNebraska · 14/06/2010 13:10

the oens in JL southampton are very drole and young.
they take the piss out of the assistants in Hollister.

I bought the By Terry Touche Veloute as it had been recommended on here and it is fabulous. I am using it as an under eye concealer and general sort of face Tippex. Has anyone tried their foundation?

DastardlyandSmugly · 14/06/2010 13:21

Alaska thanks for the tip re. the Bumble & Bumble Sea Hair stuff. Is very good. Used it at the wedding on Sat and felt just like I'd walked out of the surf!

controlfreakery · 14/06/2010 13:21

yes, and it's FAB. seriously good.
also have extremely expensive primer thingy which is excellent and smells of old fashioned roses (rose d'or???).

GetOrfMoiLand · 14/06/2010 13:22

SEE SEE (re By Terry). My work here is done.

Yes, I have their foundation - Eclat Opulent, it is very good (amazing texture) but costs the best part of 100 quid so only use it on special occasions. Am going to try one of their cheaper versions next time I am in there.

Lol at Hollister - I swear to god the whole shop is lit by 2 50w light bulbs, and is really madly laid out. Last time was there got stuck and clamberd through a great big cheese plant to get to the checkout. DD nearly killed me as I showed her up in front of Glee cast lookalike staff.

It's a stupid shop.

AlaskaNebraska · 14/06/2010 13:26

agree
controlfreakery what IS fab

Controlfreakery is on about By Terry foundation.

controlfreakery · 14/06/2010 13:30

i was (on about by terry foundation). try the primer stuff next time you'r near a space NK ('tis a beautiful pink colour).

OneFishTwoFish · 14/06/2010 13:31

Thanks guys. I think you have persuaded me, though £95 for a foundation is a bit scary. I'm 33 weeks pregnant, I'm sure I can justify the expenditure that way as I must have saved loads more than that on booze! And I need to look nice in post baby photographs!

AlaskaNebraska · 14/06/2010 13:32

NO NO NO vitalumiere

OP posts:
OneFishTwoFish · 14/06/2010 13:36

Really? I am v pale skinned (wear MAC NC15) and thought VL was no good for pink based skin tones.

GetOrfMoiLand · 14/06/2010 13:39

Fish (not you, the other one, oh how confusing) I really wanted to try Vitalum but it was so yellow on me, am also very pale albeit pinky.

The By Terry £95 quid one is lovely but to be honest it is far too expensive for every day wear, and I am an extravagant sod usually. By Terry do other foundations for £40 or so. A good one is my every day foundation Lancome Photogenic Luminescence - pefrect coloyur match for about £25.

OneFishTwoFish · 14/06/2010 13:41

Speaking of MAC, I cannot speak highly enough of their Fluidline gel eyeliner. I have it in Blacktrack, which is great for evening, though one has to be careful as it can look a bit drag queen if too heavy handed. I also have Macroviolet which is a dark purple and FAB on green eyes.

Recent bad purchases include Benefit High Brow, which is OK but nothing special, and Benefit Eye Bright, which is totally pointless.
