I agree that wedges are the way forward. Sorry if any of these have been done before (in midst of making Sunday lunch, so no time to check out all the links), but these are in stock in a size 4 and it might be worth having a ferret around Yoox as they have some nice stuff:

Can I just throw a spanner in the works and say that I always felt that natural materials for the wedge was a no-no for evening/smart wear.

By natural materials I mean cork and hessian type stuff...

But in this glorious weather , the wedding party will be outside in the grounds, Hobgoblin, so it's more like a garden party.

(Florence refuses to admit that she didn't register the evening aspect of the wedding invitation.)

I have to agree with hobbgoblin and say that cork or hessian heel style wedges for a wedding (even a garden party one) would be a no-no. A wedge is fine if you can't cope with a heel but be careful about the type of wedge.

I like number one - the others are a bit too low to go with that dress in the evening I think.

What about these lovely Hobbs courts on sale from John Lewis? I have a pair of shoes with this heel and they are really very comfortable.
