Horizontal stripes are more flattering than vertical ones - can't remember why but there was a feature on this on some science programme.

only works if you're not wide of arse or belly...

or in serious denial about width of said arse and belly

I wear loads of stripey stuff but I am fairly small - but do think stripes are more flattering than people think.
