My face is like an itchy tomato.

Like on the front of 'take a break'

Am off to GPs

What should I say though?

I really don't like doing stuff like that

OP posts:
Gibbon · 14/05/2010 11:34

I know it can be hard Dis but as lowenergy said, they could fail to do a patch test on someone which could result in dreadful consequences (not that your reaction isn't dreadful for you )

I think they will be mortified and I doubt you'll need to say very much at all actually, once they see you.

Hope the antihistamines and cream help soon.

Disenchanted3 · 14/05/2010 12:04

she just put the phone down nme

i had a dye the night before, I know it wasn't that as the reaction started whilst the dye was on my head in the salon.

She just wouldn't budge and said they only do 48 hr test on someone who has never had their hair dyed.

I rang back and the girl who answered said she was busy so couldn't take my call.

You need to go in. SOunds like they know they were wrong.
You could sue them if you were that way inclined.

Disenchanted3 · 14/05/2010 12:16

I don't want to, I hate confronation.

Sithmummy · 14/05/2010 12:17

Think it's probably time to name and shame the salon. I had dreadful experience with a perm (many years ago), I could smell burning and the hair-dresser all but ignored me. Had to wear nifty hat/scarf combos for weeks. Surprisingly, mentioning "small claims court" did the trick with getting my money back!
Hope that you feel better soon.

Disenchanted3 · 14/05/2010 12:22

I asked them to ring me back but they haven't yet.

OP posts:
Gibbon · 14/05/2010 12:49

Outrageous Dis.

Call them back and say if you prefer I can come in and wait so that all of your other customers can see what's happened.

I am gobsmacked they are behaving in this manner tbh.

Disenchanted3 · 14/05/2010 12:51

She said I can have refund, she apologised for putting the phone down.

Shes asked me to go in though, I really don't want to.

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 14/05/2010 12:51

I know it is hard Dis but they have failed you big time and they can't be allowed to get away with i and ignore you.

Go in and be pretty loud.

I will come with you if you are near me.

Avad · 14/05/2010 12:51

Are they part of a chain Dis? If so, go higher.

Hope it's going to wear off fast for you now you have some anti histamines.

Disenchanted3 · 14/05/2010 12:53

No, not a chain.

lowenergylightbulb · 14/05/2010 13:52

You've been really brave phoning them up - well done!!

Disenchanted3 · 14/05/2010 13:58

OP posts:
FabIsGoingToGetFit · 14/05/2010 13:59

What are you going to do.

Disenchanted3 · 14/05/2010 14:04

'ust look odd for a week

all she kept saying on the phone is 'well, all you're after is money'

OP posts:
FabIsGoingToGetFit · 14/05/2010 14:05

Ring her back and say you are seeking legal advice as they are refusing to discuss this fairly with you.

They are bullying you .

Disenchanted3 · 14/05/2010 14:06

Fab, she said I can have a refund,

she wanted me to go in but im sending DH with a pic of me on his phone

OP posts:
squeaver · 14/05/2010 14:06

I know you don't feel like doing it, but you should go in - this afternoon or tomorrow when they'll be busy - and have a VERY LOUD discussion with them about it.

"Yes THIS is what happened to my face when I came in the other day"

squeaver · 14/05/2010 14:07

oh x-posts.

Well make sure he does it in front of their customers. APPALLING customer service.

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 14/05/2010 14:11

I meant it when I said I would come with you.

You need to make a big noise about this.

Name and shame too.

BusyMummyof3 · 14/05/2010 14:17

Oh you poor thing. I read you other posts and really felt for you (a similar experience when I was 14!). Anyway, I hope your hair is sorted out now and the reaction calms down.

dingdong3 · 14/05/2010 14:18

If I were you, I would take the refund and put it down as a life lesson. Getting into legal stuff is just more hassle than it's worth and you sound like you have had your fill of hassle these past couple of days.

Go book a skin test with another salon. But for now, give your hair and skin a rest - these colours are full of chemicals and your body needs to try flush them out for a week or so...

Sorry to hear about your experience - I was really narked at my salon for insisting on a test recently as I hadn't had my hair coloured for over a year...but I can appreciate why now...apparently after pregnancy, you can suddenly have a reaction to the dyes again.

Disenchanted3 · 14/05/2010 14:21

thanks

thats what im going to do, take the money and run.

its a shame as i love the colour but can never have it re-done
