I wonder if they copped off with anyone?

How snobby the Mail is?? Have you read this thread?? Good to know that MNetters aren't above the same sneering snobbery as the Daily Mail. Not so much better than them after all, are we?

And yes, I have got a sense of humour bypass where things like this are concerned. As one of the comments said, these girls probably posed merrily with no idea that the paper was going to make a national laughing stock of them. Nice.

As you were then, if it makes you feel better about yourselves...

Er, I'm not a snob

And I'm a Scouser. When I went a few years ago I was dressed nicely and didn't look "hard" either. Vinegartits was there today, and I saw her dress and it was lovely. I can assure you she will have looked very smart and classy.

When I go racing there seems to be an awful lot of green tweed with a sort of yellow stripe running through it. The preferred footwear is gumboots rather than Louboutins and every other person has a dog or 5 by their sides.

That is obviously at Point to Point but even when we go to Ascot or Newmarket it's never that grim!

If this was anywhere else but in the Mail I would be laughing, but I can't help but feel uncomfortable with the Mail's anti-working class and misogynistic attitudes coming together every year for this. Wouldn't mind if it was a balanced article like at awards ceremonies of good and bad outfits. I know people who go to Aintree who look nothing like this.

If they were allowed in and Aintree are happy, what's the beef?

There were some really lovely dresses and stunning looking women but, as usual, the fail pick on the less sartorial ones, and don't let us see the beautiful outfits!

Zombie thread.

The fake tan on them! Crikey.

Comedy style. I wouldn't say it to their faces, though. They look like women who can handle themselves Wink

Ah, 2010 thread. That makes sense. I was wondering why so many maxi dresses.

Funny how the comments are the same this year, the more things change, the more they stay the same...

Let's hope MN has grown up a bit in the past 7 years. Glad this is a zombie. What nasty comments.
