OMG! Am I the only one who suffers from this, I am 40 and it only started a few years after having my DS. I don't exactly sport a 'Magnum' style'tash but it is bloody annoying having to wax it every few weeks and being paranoid if anyone gives me a second glance!

I bought a JML beauty wand the other week to sort it and also my nostril hair

muggglewump · 26/03/2010 16:05

Oh great, the one word I mess up on, is the worst one.

Yes, my name's Muggglewump and I have really long nostril hair

Feel free to point and laugh.

MinnieMalone · 26/03/2010 16:05

What does he beauty wand do? Pluck or just trim hair? I have a right 'tache forming

sylar · 26/03/2010 16:09

Im growing a bead. Its really not good. I use lots of jolen bleach and trim with nair scissors too.

Threading is the way to go apparently

sylar · 26/03/2010 16:10

beard

i could cope with a bead

wifyhome · 26/03/2010 16:11

i use wax strips once a week but i wander how much lazer hair removal would be?anyone else would consider this?

FlyMeToDunoon · 26/03/2010 16:24

Signing in to watch this with interest. I am sick of hair removal.
Why is threading the way to go btw?
Friends have had laser treatment on pubes. They 'had' to book 6 sessions and it cost ££££££££. Good on dark hair on light skin as the laser works best on that apparently.

cruelladepoppins · 26/03/2010 19:41

Nads facial wand. I also use it on my eyebrows (needs a steady hand and I only do them about every 6 weeks!) It's sticky stuff you smear on from the wand, press a little cloth down then whip it off ... no mess but your skin has to be 100% clean and dry or it doesn't work. Feeling guilty now as I am overdue to use it again ...!

geordieminx · 26/03/2010 19:42

get it waxed at salon - £10 well spent

Nidsnay · 26/03/2010 20:08

My problem is that surely you have to let the hair grow first so that it's long enough to wax or laser etc?
If I had to grow my moustache or strange whisker-hairs that are now sprouting regularly on my chin, I'd be asked to join the circus freak show forthwith! Instead I depilate the lip hair with Boots cream and pluck the chin ones.

Monadami · 26/03/2010 20:53

I'm growing both a beard and a tache and my beard hair, some are very coarse and wirey, like a man's. I tend to either wax or have it all threaded. Wouldn't use one of those wands, as it's like shaving and they always grow back thicker, even some of the experts claim they don't.

I'd love to have laser removal, but I have dark skin, so not suitable and the one treatment suitable for dark skin, isn't as effective.

WorzselMummage · 26/03/2010 20:56

Jeez i've been waxing my own tashe since i was 20.. think yourself lucky you've got to 40!

You can buy little tins of hot wax from Bodycare for a couple of quid. I do it every 3 weeks of so.

I pull my chin hairs out with tweezers [nlush]

Monadami · 26/03/2010 20:58

I attach my wirey hairs on the wall next to the mirror in the bedroom and then count them ocassionally. This year alone, I've pulled out about 30 wirey little bu**ers.

satonthesofa · 26/03/2010 21:03

I could beat 30. What is the answer...I'm thinking of electrolysis?

juneybean · 26/03/2010 21:08

I occasionally use those blue pads, it's sort of like an emery/emory?! board pressed onto a blue bit of plastic and you do circular motions, makes the skin nice and smooth too, I can't for life of me remember what they are. But it can burn afterwards for a little while.

blackmilkofdaybreak · 26/03/2010 21:14

Do any of those home wax strips work? I remember them not being very effective but perhaps they have improved since I last tried.

piratecat · 26/03/2010 21:17

i have a tash, i am dark skinned ish, and my tash is quite dark. I am worried, that if i use wax strips i will end up with a red raw rash tash.

which would possibly be defeat the object!!!

sheas · 26/03/2010 21:26

Thanks everyone for the feedback, made me feel loads better!!! I have tried the wax strips but they don't work, the cream makes it grow back stubbly like shaving would and the best way I have found is the home waxing kits where you heat it up, slap it on and rip it off, hurts like buggery and leaves a reddish mark but not for long. Can't really afford/be bothered/have the time to get it professionally done.

Wax or pluck, as I do. Or embrace the sex god look

WorzselMummage · 26/03/2010 21:34

red raw rash tash is not a good look

( it only lasts a couple of hours though )

piratecat · 28/03/2010 16:35

cuople hours? so maybe a good idea to go it before i go to bed?!!!!

bargainhuntingbetty · 28/03/2010 16:52

DO NOT use the blue pads when your skin is wet. I did it in the shower the other night and took the top layer of skin off my chin and top lip. I looked awful and had to wear full make up for 2 days until it died down. Its fine if you do it on dry skin but DO NOT do it on wet skin.

hocuspontas · 28/03/2010 17:01

I tweezer mostly, especially the chin hairs. The pads have never worked for me only removed skin. A bic razor is what I use when rushing out in the morning as no time for anything else! (No wonder my 'tash is thick and coarse!) I have used hair removing cream in the past which worked well but I can't seem to find it any more. The only thing with that was that I noticed my lovely smooth upper lip looked a bit pinched after so I don't know if the chemicals shrivel skin!

I have sensitive skin and found waxing irrated and left red marks (not to mention the ingrowing hairs on my upper lip)

I have my eyebrows and upper lip threaded. Much easier and quicker, in my opinion.
