OMG! Am I the only one who suffers from this, I am 40 and it only started a few years after having my DS. I don't exactly sport a 'Magnum' style'tash but it is bloody annoying having to wax it every few weeks and being paranoid if anyone gives me a second glance!

oh, can you do the link again?

i would be afraid to bleach mine for fear I'd look like i'd been sucking a Mr whippy!! I am quite olive skinned! do you get a chance to choose the colour?

Alouiseg · 28/03/2010 17:21

Threading, without a shadow of a doubt. Or a 5 o clock shadow.

I had a friend at uni who removed her moustache herself - she sort of twisted a loop of thread and whirled it up and down her lip. Her eyes watered afterwards but it did the job.

Foolishly and naively I never got her to show me what the knack was - I had a mere blonde dusting back then - but ten years later and pregnant I am noticing black tache action. Quite depressing considering I have recently had to remove a couple of grey eyebrow hairs [wtf?]

Anyone able to provide a how-to guide?

whoopstheregoesmymerkin · 28/03/2010 17:27

Another beardie here! i really want those Rio home hair laser removal thingies to work, but know that it would be £300 down the drain, unless anyone has one and it works...

LaCerbiatta · 28/03/2010 17:44

I'm surprised no one has suggested this yet. I find it very efficient.

piratecat · 28/03/2010 17:56

how does that work??? i can only see it has no battereis or power, it looks painful!!!

hocuspontas · 28/03/2010 18:00

You can guarantee something that says 'you may experience a slight tingle' is going to be agony

LaCerbiatta · 28/03/2010 18:18

It's just like threading. It's very painful the first time you do it but if you then do it often and as the hair is growing back it only takes a minute or so), i.e. when you only have few hairs, it's quick and painless. IIt does cut some of the hairs, but then again I never found any method to be perfect at removing them all from the root.

I suppose waxing is more effcient but at least with this you don't need to wait for all hairs to grow back.

SixtyFootDoll · 28/03/2010 18:50

hmm tuga I have never seen one of those before, might treat myself.
I have been a-bleaching and a-waxing since my teens, am now starting to get chin hair too.
Grrr.

pluck them

every time you do your make up in the morning pull a few of the buggers out. That way it doesnt hurt and you dont get red marks.

FalafelAtYourFeet · 29/03/2010 12:46

OhFuck- if you google 'threading' there are loads of good YouTube video tutorials which you can look at- it takes some practice but it is very effective. And cheeeeeeeep!

LaCerbiatta · 29/03/2010 12:53

Riven, no, you don't need to wait. I usually do it every day or every other day and that way I always catch the hairs when they're small and few ant the area is always fuzz free! Also, that way it doesn't hurt when I do it.

FlyMeToDunoon · 29/03/2010 17:09

I looked at the youtube clips and threaded my tache yesterday, catching a few more strays today.
It was quite easy, a little painful around the centre and under nose and was pink for an hour or so.
I am impressed. Now to see what happens as they grow back in.

Alouiseg · 29/03/2010 17:44

Respect to those self threaders!

OhFuck · 29/03/2010 18:01

I'd never even thought of that Falafel - thanks! I've ordered one of those Epicare things though, so maybe I'll see how I get on with that first. [visions of shredded top lip]

SixtyFootDoll · 29/03/2010 20:50

I wax my own using the veet facial wax strips.
It does hurt and I have to build myself up to do the pull!

mankymummymoo · 29/03/2010 21:00

DS said to me on Friday in wonder... mummy you have beard ! to which i stropped, i DO NOT HAVE A BEARD DS, its a moustache ! .

I went to remove it with cream on Saturday at which DS went into hysterics saying it was his best friend ever and he LOVED it soooo much.

so what can i do?

HarrietTheSpy · 29/03/2010 21:04

Hate face fur. Have had it for a bit. Threading.

diddl · 30/03/2010 07:59

If you´re dark skinned, don´t bleach

FlyMeToDunoon · 30/03/2010 10:16

LOL mankymummymoo! You will have to cultivate it and give it a name!
