My wardrobe is sooo boring, black, white, various shades of grey and of course jeans. Inspired by various links saw this and have just purchased. What do you think? Know it will seem quite boring for some of you style icon's on here but as a first step forward away from drabness good purchase or not? ok, I think that the very beautiful girl wearing it could make anything look great. On me it would probably look silly and would make me look dumpy.

overmydeadbody · 27/02/2010 20:09

Dueling I tihnk it's the rose dress in the second link, not the dress on the model in the first link.

I like it OP! Am tempted to order it myself, thanks for the link!

MrsBadger · 27/02/2010 20:13

too flowery for me

and too short

vesela · 27/02/2010 20:23

I like it. There are a lot of floral prints that I don't like, but I like this one. And I think the black ribbon at the front makes it. My only reservation would be the material.

anneke1 · 27/02/2010 20:24

It is the rose dress, thought it would look nice with skinny black jeans or leggings. Sick of turning up in my White Stuff/Boden sponsored playground beginning to feel like some sort of clone. Just want something a little different but also has to fit in with my limited wardrobe as opposed to spending a fortune on producing an outfit.

heQet · 27/02/2010 20:25

I really hate that first one - looks like it's got faces on it?

The one with the roses is ok - would look nice over trousers. but I think the bow on the front of it looks silly.

TyraBanks · 27/02/2010 20:27

Really drab colours and I don't like the black/brown combo. It looks like the kind of material that would go really shapeless and saggy after a couple of washes. Sorry.

anneke1 · 27/02/2010 20:28

That's okay TyraBanks did ask for an honest opinion.

Th ething with Yumi as well is that it is made from the most ghastly fabrics.
However the pictures look, however pretty the shapes, when you touch one they are vile nylony acrylic monstrosities.

No one over 15 should wear them, and no one under 8 for that matter.... They are only OK for girls at that age where perfect gamine figure, perfect skin and a freshness in their very being means that they can wear any shite and still look lovely.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 27/02/2010 20:30

I don't like it - the pattern is meh and it's 95% acryclic - not good!

mangoandlime · 27/02/2010 20:30

I like the Russian Doll dress! Nice over jeans? Quirky and different.

janeite · 27/02/2010 20:30

I think it looks quite cheap and teenage, sorry. Also a bit early 90s grunge: it's the sort of thing I used to wear with DMs.

vesela · 27/02/2010 20:31

I like the black bow on the front - it kind of centres it and pulls it together. Plus presumably is meant to match black leggings.

LaDiDaDi · 27/02/2010 20:33

I like the pattern but not the style.

vesela · 27/02/2010 20:36

It's a pity about the material.

anneke1 · 27/02/2010 20:38

Okay don't hold back people, have never purchased Yumi before but obviously very clear ideas on the brand out there. Well have you any ideas how I could pep up my boring wardrobe without spending a fortune?

OP posts:
TheDevilWearsPrimark · 27/02/2010 20:40

this is nice

Cranreuch · 27/02/2010 20:41

I agree re the material, but think otherwise it is nice.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 27/02/2010 20:44

or if you really want flowers
